Abstract

The use of Generative Artificial Intelligence (GenAI) not only enhances the efficiency of scientific writing but also contributes to the achievement of Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 4: Quality Education by strengthening digital literacy, promoting adaptive learning, and fostering twenty-first-century competencies. Various GenAI platforms can be utilized to generate research ideas, develop manuscript outlines, improve language quality, and manage citations and references more efficiently. However, the adoption of GenAI also presents challenges related to information validity, academic integrity, and users' ability to critically evaluate AI-generated outputs. This community service program aims to enhance the competencies of academics and students in using GenAI effectively, ethically, and responsibly to support scientific article writing. The results indicate that participants' understanding of the effective, critical, and responsible use of GenAI in scientific writing improved following the training. This program is expected to serve as a mentoring model for improving the quality of scientific publications, strengthening AI literacy, and supporting the transformation of learning in higher education in the era of artificial intelligence.
