Radiology Goes To School: Meningkatkan Literasi Radiologi dan Keselamatan Radiasi Bagi Siswa SMA di Wilayah Kepulauan SMA 4 Seram Bagian Barat

This Community Service Program (PkM), entitled Radiology Goes to School, aimed to enhance students' knowledge of radiology, the benefits of medical imaging, radiation safety principles, and the role of radiographers in healthcare services. The program was conducted at SMA Negeri 4 Seram Bagian Barat, Maluku Province, involving 80 high school students. The educational activities consisted of interactive lectures, demonstrations of radiation protection equipment, radiographic examination simulations, educational videos, group discussions, and learning evaluations using pretests and posttests. The results demonstrated a significant improvement in participants' knowledge, with the mean score increasing from 55.6 in the pretest to 88.2 in the posttest. The proportion of students with good knowledge increased from 26% to 91%, while those with poor knowledge decreased from 33% to 0%. Furthermore, 92% of participants reported that they had newly understood that diagnostic radiation doses are administered according to established safety standards, and 94% recognized that radiological examinations are performed only when medically indicated after considering the associated benefits and risks
