This study aims to (1) examine the publication trend of e-commerce packaging research between 2016 and January 2026, (2) map its distribution across countries, institutions, and outlets, (3) identify its thematic structure through author-keyword co-occurrence analysis, and (4) determine theoretical, contextual, characteristic, and methodological gaps to formulate a future research agenda. A hybrid bibliometric and systematic literature review was conducted on 28 Scopus-indexed journal articles selected following the PRISMA 2020 protocol. Publication trends, country co-authorship, and keyword co-occurrence were mapped using VOSviewer version 1.6.20, while the qualitative synthesis followed the Theory-Context-Characteristics-Methodology (TCCM) framework. Results show that annual output rose from three articles in 2022 to seven in 2023, dipped to three in 2024, and surged to a peak of thirteen in 2025, China and Malaysia led with five articles each, followed by India (four) and Australia, Germany, and Spain (three each).
