Pengembangan Pembangkit Listrik Tenaga Surya (PLTS) Portabel sebagai Sumber Energi Alternatif untuk Perladangan Cabai di Kecamatan Parbuluan

Limited access to electricity in chili farming areas in Parbuluan District, Dairi Regency, hinders charging water pump batteries, mobile phones, and providing lighting for farming activities. This community service program aimed to develop a portable Solar Power Plant (PLTS) as an alternative energy source to improve farmers' work efficiency. The implementation methods included field observations, interviews, system design and assembly, user training, field implementation, and evaluation. The results demonstrated that the portable PLTS successfully supplied electricity for charging water pump batteries, mobile phones, and LED lighting directly in the farming area. Based on interviews, farmers reported that the system eliminated the need to return home, located approximately 3 km from the farmland, for charging electrical devices. This reduced travel time by an estimated 6 hours per month, allowing more time for productive farming activities. In conclusion, the portable PLTS provides an effective and sustainable alternative energy solution that improves work efficiency and supports agricultural activities in areas with limited access to electricity.
